There is no greater comfort than knowing that in our darkest moments, when we are deeply grieving God meets us in his Son Jesus.
In this week’s passage from John 11, we see not simply the comfort that Jesus brings but that he enters the grief and pain that is common to all.
It’s not that -in the words of Bette Midler- ‘God is watching us’! but that God came down- entered our world of grief and pain, took on that same pain, and redeemed it!
Because of Jesus, we can face our own deaths with confidence.
He removes fear and doubt and brings eternal comfort when we mourn the loss of a loved one who died in the Lord.
Jesus’ promise and claim to be the resurrection and the life demonstrates all that Jesus has been saying about himself. That he is from God- and as such he promises to give eternal life to all who believe.
Join us this Sunday as we delve into John 11.
