What to expect
The Gospel is the center of our ministry, and everything we do must find its root in the Gospel. The Gospel must therefore be clear to us. The Gospel applied to our lives and the lives of others will bring true renewal and restoration.
We have a welcome team at the front door that will explain everything as you arrive. They will show you where everything is located, help you get a drink if you would like one and then show you to your seat. Seating looks slightly different during covid times but ultimately you can sit at any location where a seat is located.
In the 8:30 service at Howrah children stay in the service but we have a kids area on the side. Children can draw, read, paint, or build lego in this area as they listen to what is happening.
In the 10:30 service at Howrah we have a dedicated kids program. Our youth ministry team take the children out and teach them the Bible in song, games and by watching videos.
At South Arm services we have things for the children to do in the service and occasionally we run a Sunday kids program.
Sunday services are all different with a service that suits different expressions of worship and also suits people in different stages of life.
The 0830 service at Howrah and the 10am service in South Arm are more traditional with a quiet atmosphere and a deep sense of reverence as we worship God in hymns, hear God’s word read and taught and pray for the world and the church.
10:30am service at Howrah provides more modern worship music and a more energetic yet reverent service praising God, hearing His word read and taught and really investing in the children in our midst.
There is a deep sense of community as we live life together and share a cuppa while discussing anything and everything!
We celebrate communion regularly at all our services and this is a time where get a visual reminder of the seriousness of sin, what it cost God to save us and we remember the amazing grace of Jesus.
Every week we provide opportunities to receive prayer if needed.
Sundays are a time to gather together with people that live, work, and play all over the parish of Clarence South and celebrate the good news about Jesus. It's a time to remember the truths that have changed our lives. We firmly believe that our street address is just a building, but when the people gather it's where you find the church!
Clarence South Anglican is a friendly family of diverse believers in Jesus Christ, as well as many who are simply investigating Jesus with us.
Clarence South has college students, families with kids of all ages, working professionals, as well as more "seasoned" people around too. No matter who you are, we have a place for you. Come this Sunday and spend time with us to see why we live for Jesus in the everyday stuff of life.
There are so many ways in which you can be involved. You can just turn up and check out if this is a place you could belong to, you can jump into small groups or join one of our many social groups.
There is a place and a way for all people to get involved.
If you are feeling called to serve God and want to explore that, Clarence South encourages and supports people to grow in faith, develop the gifts God has given them and journey with God in any way he is calling them.
We would love to discuss how we might support and encourage you on this journey
We have bible studies all over the parish and there will be one that suits you
We have Bible studies that meet in homes, bible studies that meet at church and also groups called missional communities who share a meal, study the Bible and serve the community around them.
These groups are open to anyone. There are groups for young adults, for families and for those who are more “mature”.
Have a look at our “missional community” page to see what group might suit you.
Alternatively, we are always looking for people to host or lead new small groups. If that's you, get in touch.
