Power and Control

The world we live in is in love with power and control. Because in power there is security; the ability to change others, change our circumstances, change our lives for the better.

Often we are frustrated then, when we are constantly in a place of no power. We can’t change what is happening, we can’t change the things in ourselves we don’t like. This can lead to a place of despair, or seeking to increase our power.

But the bible calls us not to seek power, but to put our trust in the One who has all power. The things we want to change; God has the power to do all that and more!

So the question for us is whether we feel like we can trust God with whatever is going on in our lives. Can we trust God? It’s only through the love of God seen in Jesus Christ that we can have any confidence in the face of our own powerlessness.
