The power of God’s word

We often tend to think that words are powerful- the pen is mightier than the sword thinking!
And it’s true- words are powerful- they can build up and encourage or they can crush and tear down. We remember significant words spoken and written.

In today’s passage, we see that God’s word is powerful on a whole other level!
God’s word is powerful because it acts- it brings change!

God spoke and the world came to be.
Jesus calmed a storm through a word!
God’s word continues to act in us through Scripture- which is why we value the Bible so much and seek to have it shape everything we do as individuals and as a church.
