Loving God by knowing Jesus.

Part of the mission of our church is that we would love God ... by knowing Jesus.

This is a theologically rich idea, and worth diving into!

Many in our world are ok with Jesus; the Jesus who loved the poor, cared for the needy, healed the sick, opposed the religious elite and taught forgiveness, tolerance and love.

And yet the same people would have big problems with God; the God who judges, who gives strict commands, who often seems harsh. No wonder then, how in the church we can often end up just talking about Jesus and feeling awkward about the God of the Old Testament.

But we cannot separate God and Jesus; that breaks the Trinity!

If we don't understand God, it's because we haven't yet understood Jesus.

And the way we come to love God is by knowing Jesus fully.

This week we look at Exodus 33 and 34- coming to see and love the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
